(CNN)Jessie Usher, the lead of Starz's series "Survivor's Remorse," has been cast in Fox's sequel "Independence Day 2." Liam Hemsworth has also been cast in a lead role and Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as David Levinson from the original.

"Independence Day 2" is set for release on June 24, 2016.

In addition, a number of sequels are planned for the next two years: Star Wars, Terminator, Mission Impossible, Beverly Hills Cop, X-Men, and Planet of the Apes among them.
