So I'm just about finished with "American Desperado". I definitely recommend the book. It's entertaining. But I'm still very skeptical of some of Mr. Roberts' more outrageous stories. The author does try to find other sources for Jon's stories and he puts them in footnotes, but many of them he can't confirm and others are shaky at best. Like citing a police report or newspaper story that describes an incident that is vaguely similar to what Jon's story says but has no mention of Jon or anyone else. I mean I'm sure there was a police report of the Joey Gallo murder but that doesn't mean Frank Sheeran was the killer (as he claims in his book). But it's a fun book to read.
