JJB I was under the impression Mario DeStefano got made into the Outfit because he was more stable, unlike Sam who they'd never give a button to. Don't quote me on this, but I think Tony Spilotro and Mario DeStefano were in on Sam's murder, with Tony acting as the triggerman and Mario setting up the hit on his own brother. Sometime after the hit on Sam, I think Mario got his button.
