Aging parents can be a stress - deep breaths mandatory. When my mother was slipping into dementia I would get calls about turning the TV on. Mom wouldn't remember that to shut it off the previous night she had pulled the plug. My brother used a roll of duct tape to affix the plug to the socket and wall. Over this wad of tape he placed a sign, "DO NOT TOUCH". It worked. Good luck.
