A man in his 20s was taken from his home by masked men and shot in the leg last night.

Police in Belfast are today investigating the shooting, which occurred at around 9pm in the Downfine Walk area of west Belfast.

Detectives investigating the shooting said one member of the group made off on foot toward a nearby youth club.

The others left the scene in a dark coloured saloon type car.

The injured man was rushed to hospital to be treated for his wounds, which are not thought to be life threatening.

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to the gun attack.
