In another recent thread we were discussing the Revel in Atlantic City. They tried to operate a casino using the exact opposite of the model for that business. They thought they could make it on food and booze, and that the gambling was the gravy. They lasted all of two years.


The numbers were a bit startling, but when you dig into the (alleged) root of it, it's same old, same old. There's still a lawsuit pending where the investors in the club allege the management of the club jacked up management fees, and taking those proceeds and investing in competing clubs.
