^^^Toned down is a good way to describe it. The problem with comparing street corner drug crews to OC is that the cops know where to immediately start looking or have some general idea of where, if Flamboyant Phil from the Genoveses is left in the street, versus Lil' Tee. Lil' Tee could've gotten a hot one from anyone, Flamboyant Phil is, was, or maybe on LEO's radar, with documented known associates, etc.

I could be drawing some incorrect or off-base comparisons, also. I hate to say it too, but I feel like LEO has a higher incentive to solve an OC based murder than a corner killing any day. Who knows. Just my thoughts on the subject.
