Hey SC, did you see the rain in your old neck of the woods yesterday?
My sister-in-law and her family in Massapequa had to check into a hotel last night. And they didn't even get the worst of it.
I saw that on Channel 7 News. Couldn't believe it!! Massapequa got over 8 inches of rain in just a few hours.
That part of western Suffolk is roughly the exact same area that got bombed with three feet of snow two years ago. Hundreds of cars were completely buried in drifts on the LIE.
Scary stuff. (Another repeat of last winter - cold and very snowy - is forecast for this year).
It's really bizarre. I mean, ten inches of rain? That's Biblical right there.
Think about that. When we get a normal pounding rain that lasts for a day or two, they usually come up with an inch and a half or two inches when they report it. But eight or ten inches in a matter of hours?
And thanks for breaking the good news about the snow that's in store for us this year .
