There has to be a middle ground. I don't think anyone would argue that the streets were a little safer when cops were given rein to smack you around when you acted like an asshole (the same goes for parenting ).
But the cops today want a police state, and the Lefties in the city government want anarchy.
No middle ground. No justice, no peace.
