I don't think so. Vinny let his heart rule his brain because of the threat made to his son (which was a very real threat, and not imagined, by the way). I'm not a Philly guy, but I've read and heard that with Scarfo it was a blood lust thing. Vinny wasn't like that at all.

Vinny was a killer, plain and simple. Most of these guys are...almost all. And Vinny can definitely be defined as a killer, regardless of how good of a guy you thought he was.
He was in on hits, and ordered hits resulting in several lives lost.
