I've seen the Iceman film. Shannon always plays fringe-type characters. Kuklinski and his brother had lengthy jail sentences, so I think they did some bad stuff.

But Kuklinski just wasn't as 'tight' with the five families as he claims. All crooks and gangsters routinely lie, so get used to it.

Maybe he worked for Robert DiB at one of his porn duplicating locations and knew a few people connected to DeMeo or was a minor acquaintance of DeMeo.

It's a joke to think that he was a key shooter in the Billotti/Castellano hit.
