At the end, the kid's father implies that he's taking him out to the wood shed for a whipping. I'll bet you couldn't get that on television today because of political correctness.
Taking him to the woodshed is one thing, but if I remember the episode correctly, Andy, the chief law enforcement official in the town, laughs and tells the dad where he can find an appropriate stick (perhaps a switch), with which to beat the boy. Now that's just plain wrong.

Do you remember the episode where Opie's friend slept over and Opie got jealous because the boy was going to sleep in Andy's room with Andy?
I think Andy may have even mentioned the boy sleeping in his bed. Now it was a much different time, and it was surely innocent. But try getting that on television today .
