As I understand it, the Feds backed down not wanting anyone to get hurt or have a violent uproar. I understand he's been given several notices/warnings. What do Feds do next? Can they just go to his door and arrest him, perhaps after things die down? OR go in like gangbusters and arrest him now?

TIS, court orders of which he is the subject go back to 1998. The latest one was May 2013. At some point failure to comply with a court order does become a criminal offense. For now though, it's all civil. Perhaps the feds will wait for his death and then lien against his property in probate. DT or Kly know the remedies better.
