Philly is a curiosity.

"15 to 20 made guys on the street" (http://www.myfoxphilly.com/story/25205343/wiseguys-out-of-jail-local-mob-in-chaos#ixzz2ysAQswk6).

In a city of 6 million and there's talk of 'factions fighting over a smaller and smaller pie'?!?!

Why are there such a small number of made guys on the street in a city this size, this is not Chicago where 'making a guy' is not necessarily a done thing, or at least comparable to the East coast families.

Philly has the second largest Italian population in the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Philadelphia#Italians)

This is a city of 6 mil with 15-20odd made guys on the street, and a huge Italian-American population.
Surely if nothing else there would be more than enough 'pie' for all, if not the potential opportunity to expand.

And this considering Philly has a reach into atlantic city and Jersey.

Doesnt make sense imo in terms of size of the family to size of the city, considering its Italian demographic.
