I wouldn't be shocked if Jo Jo Pecora was vested in Havana, Cuba back in the day, but actually part of the skim....I've never seen any evidence that points to Pittsburgh being vested in Vegas. Now, he may have had some serious contacts out there and was taken care of when he went out there, but he would have had to be in on the deal with Cleveland...and I highly doubt Maishe Rockman in Cleveland was sharing the proceeds with many of his own people, let alone Jo Jo in Pittsburgh.

My Uncle and my grandpa were very close to a guys by the name of Mike Velardo. Mike was a longtime bookmaker in Youngstown and after his 12th arrest, he left Youngstown for Vegas in the mid 1950's. Make a long story short, Mike became the Casino manager of Caesars Palace and was considered one of the most powerful casino managers in all of Vegas. His son got into the business and ran Mohegan Sun in Connecticut before being promoted and going back out to Vegas. He died recently, obituary is below:
