2 things I loved about Edwin Jacobs' Defense of Joe Ligambi.

1) Classification of these charges as "RICO lite".

2) Never denying the fact that they're mob members, but with the caveat that there technically isn't anything wrong with that.

2*) I think that is the successful way to defend a mob case in the post 9/11 generation of RICO trials. It was first used by Vincent Basciano's attorney in his 1 acquittal. I think it was Harrison Ford in 'Clear and Present Danger', "Why diffuse a bomb that has already gone off."
