From my understanding, John Scalish was dead set against his kids having any direct involvement with LCN. Frank was a liason to a few unions and city hall, but completely legitmate in regards to his business dealings.
He a general president in the textile union and wasn't squeaky clean by any means but your right he was not Cosa nostra
