For us very old timers....when I started driving (1965), gas was somewhere between 25-29 cents a gallon. I went to a community college in 1967 and used to get 35 cents worth of gas, which got me there and home (20 miles) with gas to spare. For the longest time, maybe 2 years, gas was stuck on 29 cents a gallon. There was no daily or weekly fluctuations. Three dollars would fill up my VW Beetle for two weeks. And I walked 20 miles to school...up hill and it was up hill going home. tongue
