Because these are backward thinking people making a living as criminals.

They dont know black people who arent involved in their world, because in their world, they don't interact with black people from other walks of life. They don't go out of their own circles unless they have to. Anybody who isn't Italian is inherently lower on the chain, and those whom they interact with are thugs just like them. Of course they don't take a favorable view.
