I remember visiting him in the hospital that September. He was very happy to hear that all the ladies were asking for him, especially you, Afs.

He was a good friend, a funny and dear man. It's amazing how someone, no matter how briefly, can have such a profound and lasting impact on your life that way.

His favorite thing was to sign into Windows Messenger when I was doing homework with the girls at the kitchen table so he could try and solve their math problems before they could. He also loved what we termed the stupid assignments, like naming five countries that begin with the letter Z.

The first time that we turned on the computer to do homework after his death, I'm not sure who missed him more - me or the girls.
