Riggs was a hustler and a gambler who was around wiseguys all his life, so I have no problem believing that he bet against himself and threw the match. Especially when you consider that he manhandled the number one female player in the world just a few months prior to the King match. But I have a hard time believing that Marcello and Trafficante would have been directly involved in this. But I guess you never know .
