from what i understand(which maybe wrong) was that long john wanted to take over the family when he came out of prison, so uncle joe being acting boss definatly had the authority to take him out if he thought long john was a threat to him.
yeah thats pretty much it some people also say its cause they blame him for crow flipping, and probably some jealousy over the amount of money long john made because none of those guys could earn like he did
