If you remember, Oli, the Turner channels used to begin their shows a few minutes after the hour. The theory behind it was that those were the moments when other shows were airing credits and commercials and people would flip the channel. Therefore, because the shows on Turner's networks were just starting, they would capture your attention. I'm going to guess that since they don't do that any longer, it was not successful.

Honestly, it doesn't even matter when shows begin any longer. I'm so used to watching on the DVR now that I just record them, watch and FF through commercials and can see an hour long show in about 40 or so minutes.

I just started watching reruns of Southland. What a great show. I only watched the last two seasons when they were new, so it's great to catch up on why the characters were they way they were.
