I believe he is still in Los Angeles. He has several companies registered to him and his sister in the state of California. Although one company has phone numbers listed out of Miami so who knows.
It would make sense for NY to keep him out here because a) he has the stripes as underboss and 2) knows the lay of the land. The Gambinos need a point man in California as there are several made guys with restaurant investments here. Otherwise, Donnie Shacks would scoop it all up.
