OK, I want to respond to some of these posts:

Yogi - our kids have had their school snacks monitored for years. We were given a list of allowable snacks every year and weren't allowed to send in anything else. Even chocolate milk was prohibited. Our daughter's best friend is allergic to peanuts, so she had to sit at the peanut-free table since first grade.

Klyd - how wonderful to extend your hospitality to these kids. As we grow older and our kids move on, it's wonderful to have little ones around again.
