They claim to many parents give their kids unhealthy food, ie; cans of pop, chocolate and sweets!!! however ours have always had healthy lunches, fruit and pasta salads, bottles of water and the like.

I think the schools are using it as an excuse to push forward their school dinner programme, which none of my kids have ever liked. Over priced mush!!! I remember school dinners back in my day and it was just mush then as well. Of course lots of families qualify for free school dinners but we don't and I am not paying £8 a day for food my kids don't want!!!

I don't blame you, Yogi. The only thing that is monitored closely in our school district is peanut butter. Kids, who bring nuts or peanut butter as part of their packed lunch must sit at specially designated tables due to the potentially dangerous consequences from peanut allergies.
