Sentencing is way out of line. Whatever he did in past does not justify 16 years on a gambling charge. It's not possible to go shopping without having lottery tickets in your sight, ann watching news without seeing at least one lottery commercial is impossible. Signs on highways urge us to play lottery. Gambling is all over, in our faces, but only politicians want to have their political hacks run it. Judge was very over the top here. No justification for this.
You're preaching to the choir as far as legalized gambling goes. It is hypocritical and the state shouldn't be involved in it. But that doesn't excuse Massimino and other mob guys for engaging in it. And the crimes he's committed in the past do justify the long sentence he got. He's proven time and time again that he's a career criminal with no intention of changing. Lock him up.
