Despite his wounds, Migliore survived.[3]
Vittorio "Vic" Amuso had reportedly ordered the hit on Migliore from his prison cell. He feared that Migliore was planning to remove Amuso as official boss and cut off his cash stream. Some investigators suspected that Lucchese soldier Paolo LoDuca, an Italian cocaine trafficker, was responsible for setting up the hit. The attempt on his life did not sway Migliore away from the crime family though.

Well, the first paragraph you quoted is a Wiki passage based on an article published in the NY Times April 5, 1992. The author cited police sources.

If you read Migliore´s wiki page you´ll find that the second passage you quoted has no source, which is understandable. To my knowledge, although Paolo LoDuca was said to have been a suspect in the Migliore murder attempt, Migliore´s murder attempt has never been cleared up.

And I agree with you. I wouldn´t say Amuso was a big pussy but a guy with low self esteem and bad leader abilities. Those kind of guys are often the most dangerous.
