My mother is an ovarian cancer survivor and tested positive for the BRCA2 gene. I was tested and luckily don't have it. I felt like I dodged a bullet. When you have the cancer mutation, your chances of developing either breast or ovarian cancer increase dramatically. I'm guessing that a hysterectomy may be her next step.
