Do municipalities remove signs that aren't pertinent anymore? For instance; is there a sign in your town on a local road that reads "Deaf Child in Area",...
Oh yeah... there's a "Deaf Child Area" sign down the block from me that's been there all my life! I've always asked myself the same questions!
Of course there's also the "Slow Children (At Play)" signs -- I think that's pretty rude to call some children slow.
I always wondered if they were mentally slow, or couldn't run fast. I've been on the lookout for those pedestrians without hands and feet. Missing feet could really be a problem.
There is a two lane country road by me with scattered houses. The speed limit is 50 mph, and there are signs that say "Watch for Children". In six years I've never seen any, but I keep watching.
