One more point dissuading the notion of Bonanno influence in Montreal, Di Maulo Desjardin's brother in law was obviously not worried about the Bonanno's as he didn't even travel with body guards.

If he was at all scared of Bonanno retribution one would think he would have taken precautions.

Desjardins was in general population right up until Di Maulo was killed and after that was moved to protective custody. If there was any threat whatsoever from the Bonanno's those guys would have all been in PC from the start.
