Not sure about your issue (don't have books nor an iPad), but I'm trying the new iTunes right now -- and it seems ridiculously slower than the last version updating my iPhone apps, to the computer! And it was hard to find things that used to be right in your face. I'm not sure what they were smoking when they came up with this chit.
