One of the saddest things I've ever heard. A parade float of wounded veterans and their wives were going to a banquet in their honor when their float crossed over train tracks. The warning lights flashed 7 seconds before they crossed, and the freight train bearing down on them was unable to stop before hitting them. Four were killed and 16 hospitalized.
