Interesting article, Lilo. As an artist, I understand the need to protect any piece one creates. A prime example of this is the song from Matthew Wilder in 1983; "Break My Stride". I'm sure when he recorded that he never believed it would be used in commercial for adult diapers 25 years later. On the other hand, all artists want their work to be seen, appreciated and remembered.


I remember that song. I was a little too inexperienced to appreciate the whole angst over breakup lyrics but I liked the melody. Yup some artists/publishers are very picky about other people using their creations. Others don't care as long as they get paid.
