It sounds like this guy was "inspired" by the newest trend in counterfeiting:

Recently, phony $100 bills have been turning up that are actually made from altered $5 bills. The fivers are bleached to remove the original ink, then reprinted with an image of a $100 bill. The funny money passes the special pen "ink test" at stores because the bank note paper is still genuine. However, when held up to a light, the original Abraham Lincoln watermark image is still there. Dead giveaway.

I saw this story just the other night on a local news program; an Internet search revealed that this scam has happened in several cities around the country this year.

So, as far as the criminal "genius" reported by Turnbull, all I can say is next time, remember to change the picture! (Who knows - perhaps to him, all us gringos look alike! wink )

"For me, there's only my wife..."

"Sure I cook with wine - sometimes I even add it to the food!"

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?"

"It was a grass harp... And we listened."

"Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?"

"No. Saints and poets, maybe... they do some."
