I don't know the name of the beer, but a friend served us a German beer once. Many years ago, the little German town this beer came from had a fire and the grain in the silo was burned. Since everyone in the town depended on the harvest and beer, they decided to make it with the burned grain. It proved so "different" that they became famous and they decided to make it that way all the time. It was horrible - burned and bitter.
