Gotti became boss in 86, by that time Montiglio was already in the witness protection program. Prior to Gotti it was true though, they were Sicilians. Gotti changed it because he became boss via an unsanctioned murder, but now they have gone back to the old ways with Cefalu.
It only took them a quarter of a century to accomplish that and rid themselves of the Gotti "curse"
