The RS readers poll in question from last month, w/ associated acts in ().

1. The Last Waltz (The Band)
2. The Song Remains the Same (Led Zeppelin)
3. Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads)
4. Woodstock
5. Rattle & Hum (U2)
6. Gimme Shelter (Rolling Stone)
7. Live at Pompeii (Pink Floyd)
8. Shine a Light (Rolling Stones)
9. Sign O' The Times (Prince)
10. Bullet in a Bible (Green Day)

Alot of those entries are expected, and Scorsese makes the list twice (three if you count his AD work on WOODSTOCK). #1 is a very solid choice.

I was pleasantly surprised with how high STOP MAKING SENSE ranked, and with SIGN O' THE TIMES cracking the list considering that Prince concert movie is obscurely available legally only by pricey import.

I'm certain #5 only made the list because of the band, and not the movie itself. (That was the one where Bono came off as arguably pretentious by claiming U2 was taking back "Helter Skelter" from Charles Manson. As if those murders ever stopped classic rock station DJs from playing it or countless bands covering it or becoming a Paul McCartney concert staple.) #10 is just laughable, and interesting enough the only one post-80s that got voted in.
