Springsteen Tour

Quote:
A new Springsteen album was already in the pipeline when Clemons died, and "Wrecking Ball" was released last month amid a flurry of appearances: a performance at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, (where Springsteen gave the keynote speech); a soul-drenched Sirius XM-sponsored broadcast at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, N.Y.; and now a tour the E Street Band launched with almost no rehearsal. They stop tonight at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

"There were a lot of discussions about what to do because of the loss of Clarence," says E Street Band guitarist "Little" Steven Van Zandt, of the pre-tour meetings.

"I think we made a lot of good decisions. Don't replace the irreplaceable. You're going to find people to play the (musical) parts of Clarence and Danny, but you're not going to replace them. And you don't want to put pressure on someone standing in that spot. So we have a five-piece horn section with two sax players who take turns playing Clarence's parts..."

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungleā€”as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
