who does everyone think are the most influential in new jersey after the genovese family? i tend to think it would be the decalvacantes, but what about the philly influence or the lucchese jersey faction which seems to be much weakened, or any of the other families?
It's the Genovese family
by far. No other family is even close, including the DeCavalcantes. The Genovese family has around 5 crews in Jersey who's number of members and associates are bigger than the entire DeCavalcante family or the other 4 NY families members and associates there combined, for that matter. The Genovese control the biggest gambling and loansharking operations in the state, as well as have most of the labor racketeering. There are still a few guys in the Bruno family's North Jersey crew but most of the family's activity is in South Jersey. Jersey is like another borough for the Genovese.
