NYC's Metropolitan Opera sends live Saturday afternoon performances by satellite to select movie theaters and other venues around the country. We've seen several of them. You don't get the buzz and the people-watching that you get if you were in the Metropolitan Opera House. But, the camerawork for the HD broadcasts is superb, so you get close up to the cast and see the acting as well as hear the singing and music. They provide terrific interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff during intermissions. And the price is right: $20 for a seat in the movie house, vs. at least $150 for an average seat at the Opera House if you could get a seat.

Anyone here have any experience with Met Opera in HD?
