A few years ago, we had a wet winter, with plenty of rain and snow. The old-timers here called it the first "real winter" we'd had in a long time, and were ecstatic about about alleviating drought conditions and other benefits.

So what happened? All that moisture encouraged growth of wild grasses and weeds all over the state. The summer had a record number of wildfires. You can't win...
