The numbskulls are at it again here in the Land of the World's Stupidest Criminals:

Police clocked a guy speeding on a motorcycle and gave chase, with lights and siren on. The guy made an abrupt U-turn and, with rear tire smoking, sped off--but not before waving to the cops in the car. Then he crashed the bike, and attempted to run away. Cops caught him. His excuse: he thought his mother was driving the car--that's why he waved. The newspaper account said: "The arresting officer asked him if his mother drove a police vehicle, with lights flashing and siren sounding. 'Uh, no,' he replied."
