They indicate who are viable candidates and who are not and help them make decisions about whether they'll stay in the race or not. Since cnadidates get onlya proportionof the Republican nomination delegates, they don't mean much statistically. However, a strong showing can also attract financial support. The bigger test is the New Hampshire primary next week.
