The McCartney album is an interesting idea. I've always thought the Lennon-McCartney team were partly old fashioned songwriters, especially their sentimental songs. The Beatles, of course, covered Meredith Willson's "Till There Was You," from the Music Man.


Paul tackled a similar gimmick years back with RUN DEVIL RUN, covers of 1950s rockers (plus inspired originals) and I loved it. Particularly his version of Elvis' "All Shook Up," which I might actually prefer over the original.
