I don't think there's much novelty to The Wire. And that's kind of the point.

It's not a show like The Shield or The Sopranos that is purely entertaining. The Wire is compelling.



Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.
