After the year that they've had, the team behind CBS and Warner Bros. TV's "Two and a Half Men" are understandably skeptical about committing to a new star for the beleaguered hit comedy.

The Wall Street journal reports (via Vulture) that Ashton Kutcher, who officially stepped up as the Charlie Sheen replacement at CBS' May 19 upfront presentation, has signed only a one-year contract with the series.
