Los Angeles police were at the Sherman Oaks, Calif., home of actor Charlie Sheen on Thursday night.

The fired "Two and a Half Men" actor tweeted "#fastball: all good here on homefront. all reports are false. I'll explain more very soon. #Dogspeed c" Officer Norma Eisenman confirmed the police presence to KNBC but said the action was not a raid. Eisenman would not disclose who or what initiated the visit. A formal statement was expected to be released Thursday night, police said.

News helicopter video showed police officers standing around the home. Sources told TMZ the LAPD was conducting an investigation into criminal activity — possibly drugs or weapons — and that the raid was "preplanned."
