Sorry, DC. Offshore drilling will lead to disaster.

The technologies I mentioned already exist - solar and hybrid technology. What about the new Nissan Leaf? Why haven't we made them so ridiculously financially attractive that more people aren't driving a Prius? Give people interest free loans subsidized by the government if they buy a hybrid or electric vehicle.

As for solar technology, we looked into it several years ago. It was prohibitively expensive, and we were limited by how many panels we could put on the roof. However, the technology has improved and the newer panels produce twice the kilowatts. At this point, though, the government has no more subsidy programs for the purchase and installation. Why not?

How about if these panels are produced in the US and the companies provide jobs locally, they receive incentives? If you buy them, you receive tax credits. You must help people because the technology is so new that it's too expensive for most people.

As for the infrastructure, FDR helped this country get back on its feet with the WPA. Why can't we do something similar?
