What is somewhat ironic is that what happened with the mob in Vegas when big corporations started buying an building casino's in the late 1980s and early 1990s actually first happened in the mid 1960s, when Howard Hughes practically bought up every mob invested casino.

Luckily for the mob, Hughes went crazy and sold all his casino's as quickly as he had bought them, so the mob could make a comeback in the early 1970s. That's when the movie Casino begins.
